At
the heart of the most indian region of our province on Thursdays
we observe -with its five plazas- the busiest indigenous market
fair in Ecuador. We return by dirt roads along the Guamote river,
crossing numerous indigenous communities and varied landscapes.
It is worth noticing on our return route the archaeological site
of Chalán near the town of Punín, where in the 19th
century the oldest -about 12000 years old- human fossils in Ecuador
were found.
